From Malawian, For Malawi
Dear Good Soil Friends and Partners:
Sustainability starts with the people who comprise your organization. Sustainability quickly becomes unattainable without people committed to the goal. Two exciting steps were taken this week by our Good Soil Academy leadership team. First, they presented a detailed strategic plan for the next one to three years. It’s an exciting plan with a “Big Hairy Audacious Goal” [BHAG] - and the ideas are exciting. They are not just exciting because they are BIG, but they are exciting because they were generated by our team in Malawi. These are God-first goals from Malawi that are for Malawians. It was so encouraging to see the attention paid to creating opportunities for the growth of these students in all quadrants of their lives, including their relationship with God. These goals represent the fruit of our GSA team’s creativity and not that of GSP’s own doing. I’ll share more about the strategic plan in future reports.
We’re so excited to see a team that is investing in the idea of creating an organization that is “from Malawians for Malawians.” We’re so excited to see them desire to become a school that one day has the resources to maintain their own student scholarship program! All of this models for our students in real time how one applies Christ-centered business principles to GSA’s Vision, Mission and Values!
Secondly, our Good Soil Academy launched and posted a beautiful video promoting GSA. This was not created in the US. It was locally produced, and it is evidence of another forward step toward creating a school that models the idea of living out what you teach. The video speaks for itself! See below:
Please join me in celebrating these key growth steps for Good Soil Academy. In presenting their SWOT (strengths, weaknesses, opportunities and threats) analysis, our team admitted that, for now, they will need GSP’s support, and we’re excited to be partnering with you to provide that support. Get ready to have your generosity stretched as we tackle big projects such as more classrooms, more desks and more chairs, but also be overjoyed knowing that we are equipping a school for His Kingdom, and that we are part of creating something that will be from Malawians for Malawians.
For His Kingdom,
Dean Eggert
